PGS is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and empowering the Pacific community. Our commitment to community engagement revolves around several key objectives:

1. Connecting Pacific Communities with Organisations: We will facilitate in bridging the Pacific community with vital entities such as local councils, government agencies, and businesses. Our aim is to amplify Pacific voices, ensuring they are heard and considered in decision-making processes
   
   

2. Connecting Organisations with Pacific Communities: We will facilitate cultural appropriate engagement between Local Government and other agencies to the Pacific communities for any public consultation. We will ensure the Pacific community fully understand the purpose of the engagement, so we are able to provide feedback. 
   
   

3. Building Strong Relationships: “Teu le Va” (honour the relationship) We understand the importance of relationships in achieving trust. Through our efforts, we are actively cultivating robust connections with a diverse range of stakeholders, including representatives from various sectors, ethnicities, faith groups, and more. These relationships are crucial in advancing our mission.
   
   

4. Establishing an Engagement Plan: We take a strategic approach to community engagement. Our team develops a well-thought-out engagement plan that outlines our approach, objectives, and potential events that require active Pacific community participation. This plan ensures that our efforts are focused and effective.
   
   

5. Active Engagement in Civil Society: We are committed to empowering Pacific communities to be active participants in civil society. By providing resources, information, and opportunities for involvement, we enable individuals and groups to contribute to the betterment of their communities and society as a whole.
   
   

6. Diverse Pacific Views in Government Strategies: Our ultimate goal is to ensure that the rich diversity of Pacific views is represented in both local and central government strategies. We work tirelessly to advocate for policies and initiatives that positively impact the wellbeing of our Pacific communities in Bay of Plenty.
